What's Been Going On.....

April 01, 2010

I have not done a very good job of keeping up with my photography blog.  I haven't done a very good job of keeping up with my Saga blog....life has been a wee bit busy and finding the time to sit down and write in the midst of a whirlwind has seemed a little impossible lately.

In addition to establishing my photography business and keeping it running smoothly, I also work a full-time job at a law firm.  I'm also a full-time mom, wife, maid, chauffeur, laundress, chef, daughter....well, you get the picture.  In case you don't, I've included a few below to let you know what I've been doing. :-)

You can check out the rest of my work at asweetlifestudio.com!  Hope to see you there...leave a note and let me know you stopped by!  :-)

As I said....a little busy lately...which is a wonderful thing....not complaining or whining because I LOVE photography.  It is my passion.  I'm also in the process of acquiring a new studio and getting it set up.  Will keep you posted so you can stop by for a visit!

Have a wonderfully blessed day!

Did you know....

Photography was once reserved only for the affluent.  A gallery of framed faces in the foyer was a most prestigious domestic attribute.  Given the exorbitant costs of portrait photography in the late 1800's, it was unthinkable to discard a valuable photograph due to a broken relationship.  Rather than throw the entire portrait in the trash, the undesirable subject would simply be folded back or scissored off.  The slender frame pictured, which found the height of its popularity after 1910, later came to be known as a "Dear John or Lover's Quarrel Frame" after the war era, thus accommodating the lonely heart beautifully!

Happy New Year!

WOW, I can't believe it is 2010 already! Seems we were just getting ready for Y2K and ready to live in bomb shelters underground for as long as it took for the world to stabilize itself again!

I have lots of wonderful photos from the holidays that I will be posting over the next few days. We had several strange "turn of events" during our holidays that I can't wait to share! Until I get those posted, how about posting some of your events from the holidays?
